Getting started with Binnacle doesn't require a long sales process or a risky commitment.
Two offerings. One firm. Built to work together.
Harbor and Helm are Binnacle's two core offerings — each compelling on its own, and more powerful together.
Harbor keeps your systems running. Helm makes them work smarter.
Start with Harbor to get a stable, secure foundation — then add Helm to find and eliminate the manual bottlenecks slowing your team down. Most clients run both because the gains compound: reliable infrastructure makes automation more effective, and automation reduces the support burden. Together, they form a complete operational platform built around your firm.
Predictable pricing. No billable hours.
We price by team size and servers, not by the hour. This model aligns our interests with yours — we succeed when your team stays productive.
IT built around relationships, not invoices
Binnacle Technologies was founded to remove the "how much will this cost?" friction that holds most IT relationships back. When your team is afraid to ask a simple question because they think it'll show up on the next invoice, efficiency suffers.
Our clients span professional services of all kinds — consultancies, engineering practices, contractors, dealerships, and more. We have particularly deep roots in the AEC space, and we bring that same operational focus to every engagement. Our Microsoft partnership gives clients access to the full depth of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, managed and secured properly.
For firms with federal contracts or defense-adjacent work, we support CMMC compliance efforts as part of a broader security posture — not as a one-time checkbox. We select vendor partners who share that commitment to substance over upsell.
Jon Shults
"We are not simply an IT support vendor. Our services are shaped by what professional services firms actually need — and by years of working closely with the AEC industry."
What our clients say
We were having issues so often we thought we needed someone on-site full time. A few weeks with Binnacle and that stopped being a conversation.
We were 20 people when we started with Binnacle. We've tripled since then. The fact that IT was never a bottleneck had everything to do with that.
I assumed this level of service would come at a high cost. Eight years in, I'm still getting an enterprise experience at a price that makes sense for my business.
Common questions
Common questions, clearly answered.
Is my firm too big or too small?
No. Because our flat-rate pricing scales with your team size, we work effectively with firms of all sizes — from small practices to larger operations.
How will I know what I'm paying for?
Every monthly invoice lists your team members by name. There are no mystery line items — just a clear accounting of exactly what's covered.
What does the onboarding process look like?
We start with a complimentary network consultation to understand your current setup and goals. From there we build a transition plan that minimizes disruption to your team's day-to-day work.
Do I have to use Microsoft 365?
Yes — it's the platform we build on. If you already have a Microsoft 365 tenant we assume it; if you're coming from Google Workspace or another service, we handle the migration.
Do I have to be a Harbor client to use Helm?
No — Helm stands on its own. That said, Harbor's stable infrastructure acts as a multiplier for automation work. Most clients run both because the results compound.
Do I have to buy all new equipment?
Usually not. We provide core networking devices and will recommend upgrades where genuinely needed — we're not in the business of replacing things that are working.
